The Field Water Tech position is a 32.50 hours per week plus on call when required position..
Candidates are required to have a Class C Water License, If don't have Class C Water License must be willing to get within the first month of employment.
Under the direction of Tulsa County Board of Directors the Water Field Tech is in operation, maintenance and repair of the water distribution, hydrants, meters and storage facilities belonging to Tulsa County Rural Water District . The employee in this class will be responsible for accomplishing functions associated with the control, operation and maintenance of the water distribution. This position includes physical labor, in all weather, and the use of tools and equipment for day-to-day duties. Due to the diverse nature of this position, the employee shall develop and acquire necessary construction skills, maintenance skills, laboratory skills and equipment operating skills to enable work to be performed in an efficient and safe manner, to ensure that safe potable water is delivered to the consumer.
This position shall be non-exempt position that will require a Class C Operator license, issued by the Oklahoma State Department of Environmental Quality. It is understood that the employee must remain current with continuing education requirements.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Participates in the operation and maintenance of the water distribution , involving complete treatment processes, to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local health codes; determines daily water requirements of the distribution system, and amounts required for treatment, to meet the needs of the consumer; interprets meter and gauge data; assists in the repair and replacement of plant equipment; assists in waterline repairs and pump maintenance; complies with safety procedures; makes regular and special written and verbal reports; assists in regular servicing and preventative maintenance schedules; operates District vehicle/equipment and performs related work as required. District vehicle is used for district only.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- Basic reading and math skills
- Ability to respond to after-hour calls
- Good communication skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift/carry/push 75 pounds
- Ability to perform demanding physical tasks, such as walking over rough or uneven surfaces, bending, stooping, working in confined spaces and at extreme heights
- Ability to operate gasoline, electric or diesel-powered machinery that may require manipulation of multiple controls, fine adjustments or both
EDUCATION
- Any additional training, education and experience needed required for this position.
Normal working hours will be Monday through Friday, 9:30AM to 4:00PM (but on call emergency line is required 24/7)
